Victor Silvis

In about two sentences - what do you do?
I help brands wording and presenting their story or proposition. So it’s internal and external communication, both online and offline.

And in your work: what are you most proud of?
In reality, you’re often just a small link in the bigger picture, so you’re only doing part of a project. I get the most satisfaction out of a project when I can whitness the whole process from a strategy to a creative concept or big idea. I also work together with advertising agencies, so for corporate accounts the visibility is really nice. Seeing your work back on TV or billboard ads. While for smaller customers, working together with the entrepreneur and his own passion for the company is really nice. It goes much deeper.

What do you think about pineapple on pizza?
Pineapple on pizza? Disgusting. I don’t like sweet flavours in my savory food.

If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be?
An alternative for capitalism.

Who was your childhood idol? Are you (almost) there?
Herman Brood or The Golden Earring, and later it was Prince and David Bowie.

There are so many things you can take from music. Creativity, constantly renewing yourself. Those are elements you can use. In language, for instance. Rhythm is very important in music and you can really see that in language too. Long sentences, short sentences, staccato sentences. The process of making music is a collective creative process, really for genres like jazz for instance. So my creative process really does share some common ground with music.

It’s almost Valentine’s Day and I need some inspiration. What is your idea of an ideal or most romantic date?
Very good food, enjoying a nice concert or something like that. And I’d like it to end with a long romantic walk.
